Me Gusta Dormir

Fall Colors
A couple of Sweetgum trees at the beginning of the Fall.
Kinda pretty aren’t they?
Star-shaped five-pointed leaves turning a golden yellow.
Five is a sacred number, não é?
Five stands for the Fire of the Gods that Prometheus stole.
Fire stands for the miracle of Reason,
so it would be the sacred number of Apollo.
We count with fives and tens, measure with them,
and it is the base of intellect because it can only be divided by itself and one.
5 fingers on each hand, etc.
There’s something remarkable
About being on the edge of everything.
