Day 1

Ok, this is Day 1 of my “journey” as described below. It’ll be represented by Shakespeare’s Sonnet #1

Shakespeare Sonnet #1

From fairest creatures we desire increase
That thereby beauty’s rose might never die,
But as the riper should by time decease,
His tender heir might bear his memory;
But thou, contracted to thine own bright eyes,
Feed’st thy light’s flame with self-substantial fuel,
Making a famine where abundance lies,
Thyself thy foe, to they sweet self too cruel.
Thou that art now the world’s fresh ornament
And only herald to the gaudy spring,
Within thine own bud buriest thy content
And, tender churl, mak’st waste in niggarding.

Pity the world, or else this glutton be,
To eat the world’s due, by the grave and thee.

My Sonnet #1 (In Progress)

I loved the girl who lived next door to me.
Her eyes were blue and clear and sang with joy.
She was the sun, the grass, the trees, the stream.
Her hair was blond and bobbed just like a boy.
Then something happened or was it just fate?
The summer ended and the snow began to fall.
The Garden froze and ice locked up her gate.
Kids’ icy jeers piled up the labyrinth’s wall.
The schools and churches claimed our time to play.
We boys formed clubs; the girls’ made secret codes.
The flowers froze; exuberant dancing went away,
And natural sentiments turned into shows.

The dragon stole the treasures of our life
Until King Arthur wakes our love will die.

Eu amava a menina que viveu ao lado de mim
